William Lang reported on the door-to-door collection for 2005 in Elstead that:

This year the door-to-door collections made £1,702, to which we should add £304.56 from the Lent Lunches - both slightly up on last year, which means that this year we have been able to send a total of £2006.56, to Christian Aid from Elstead. This represents £2.00 for every household in Elstead.

With nearly half of the door to door collection Gift Aided**, there should be an additional £222+ from the tax man, making something like £2228, altogether, which looks like a new record for Elstead !

Not only that, but the total is up despite the Tsunami Appeal earlier in the year, and the usual need to find extra people for those 'un-popular areas' (always difficult).

So, a big vote of thanks to all the collectors from the Committee.

Yours sincerely.
William Lang [Chairman & Treasurer]
