ELSTEAD
MARATHON
The
annual Elstead Marathon in aid of the 7th Farnham
Scouts (Elstead) took place on Friday 1st July.
Once again the event was kindly sponsored by Chandlers Garage.
The event attracted a record number of over 260 entrants taking
part in the children's / women's 3 mile race and men's
5.5 miles race.
The Overall results are as
follows:
The First Elstead Man who
receives the Cup was Michael Rix 33 min 37 sec (4th
Overall)
First Elstead Veteran (over 40) was Paul Thomas 39:21

The
organisers would like to thank the official sponsors, Chandlers
Garage, local landowners, Westbrook Estate, The Elstead Mill
and Prides Farm and numerous village organisations for putting
up raffle prizes.
The evening ended in the traditional manner with a tug-of-war
and thanks go to the Donkey Pub for putting up two teams.

COUNTY HOSPITAL
HOPPA LINK
There is a new Hoppa service to take patients
from their home to the Royal Surrey County Hospital and
back from local villages. HELP-IN-ELSTEAD will continue
to provide transport to Farnham, Frimley, Milford
Hospitals, atc, but only in exceptional circumstances will
provide transport to the Royal Surrey.

Times of service: Mon.- Fri:
First pick-up 8.00 a.m.
Last return pick-up from R.S.C.H. at 17.30
Cost: £5 per single journey from Elstead. [£5 to return].
Accompanying carer's single fare is £2.20

24 hours' notice - preferably more.
