ROYAL BRITISH LEGION POPPY APPEAL

The Branch held their AGM on the 9th of December, and I reported to them the results of Poppy Appeal.  Only now can I report these results to Elstead Village.

I had a lot of help with Appeal, and I am not going to list them as they are all very precious to me and missing someone out is something I wish to avoid.  In 2005 we had the 60th Anniversaries of VE and VJ day and the 200th anniversary of Trafalgar, but Appeal is not always about the Great War.  It is also about the pain and suffering that our service people go through now every day, in Iraq and elsewhere.  I wish to thank the church, the school, and everyone who collected and donated.  We did well in all departments, and it is only possible because people give of their time and energy willingly without fuss, knowing why we do it and who we do it for.

The figures are:

This was an increase of £ 1313.69.  I do not have to say any more, the figures speak for themselves.

A big Thank You to Everyone.

or you may simply not have known we are here ……

We are
Lollipops, Elstead's Parent and Toddler Group.  Hello!!

We meet every Thursday morning in term time from 10.00 to 11.30 am. at the United Reform Church Hall, Milford Road, Elstead.

Simply come along to Lollipops - its your chance to make new friends and let your children play and let off steam.

We welcome bumps, babes and toddlers with something for all. Attractions include a baby area to keep the littlest ones safe while the others play with the kitchen corner, create on the craft table, or run and ride around in our enclosed patio area. Refreshments for both adults and the children.  Each session is finished with a sing-song - actions and dancing encouraged!-

We just ask for £1.50 contribution to cover hall hire, etc.

We look forward to seeing you.
