THOUGHTS FROM THE INTERIM MODERATOR

I can remember my father saying the best thing about February is that it is a short month! However we do see during the month the beginnings of the signs of Spring and there is a garden in the road where I live whose daffodils are always out by the 10th February! How they do it I have no idea!

I noticed in my garden today the green shoots bursting through and am looking forward to February and the mass of yellow when the daffodils are in full bloom at the end of the month. This year I have another reason to be looking forward to February, I am very lucky that a friend in Farnham is taking me, and another friend to South Africa for a weeks holiday.

I have never been there before and it seems such an adventure to travel from one end of the globe to another. Travelling may be on many minds as summer holidays now have to be planned well in advance to get the place we particularly want to visit.

God's world is a place full of adventure and for those of us who like travelling each time we see a new country, experience a new culture, try a different way of eating, travel on strange and unlikely vehicles it can make us aware of how little we know and can understand the workings of the Earth.

I hope my travelling makes me more tolerant of other people and their way of life, religion and way of thinking. It doesn't always work but it helps!

I pray you have God's blessings opened to you during the coming spring and that (if you like them) you garden will be full of daffodils!
