2ND ELSTEAD BROWNIES
NEW LEADERS NEEDED

Elstead Brownies is a full pack of happy and enthusiastic girls aged between 7 and 10. However, in order to continue, the pack needs two new leaders to volunteer to take over in September 2006. Running the brownie unit is rewarding, great fun and is not as time consuming as you might think. There is a great deal of support from other local guiders as well as from parents. Those of you who have helped out will have seen how much the brownies get out of the activities that we do both as a pack and with other brownies in the area.

Last term the girls particularly enjoyed visiting 4th Godalming brownies to meet a dog from Canine Partners. This term we are planning to take our first aid badge and to present a puppet show.

We must stress that if no one can be found to take over the leadership of the unit, it will have to be suspended at the end of July so please give this some serious consideration.

If you would prefer to work with older girls, you could consider reviving Elstead Guides. Guides are aged 10 to 14 and places in the district are very hard to come by, so when our brownies reach the age of 10 they are often forced to leave guiding as there is no place available for them.

If you are interested or want to find out more, please talk to Lucy Freeman on 07703-291243 or our District Commissioner, Sally Hurst on 01428-684400, or look at the website www.girlguiding.org.uk.
