SPRINGFIELD SURGERY PATIENTS GROUP

We are writing to correct any misunderstanding which may have arisen from the piece in the last issue regarding Springfield Surgery Patients Group.

Let us start by saying that we are grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and creativity which the group have shown.  We hope that we will all be better off for their efforts.  However, it is possible that a mistaken impression could be gained from the edited article as the statement regarding the collection of donation forms from the surgery was incorrect. We must emphasise that while we hope to work in harness with the group, they are and must remain independent of the surgery.  In particular, any fund-raising which they engage in to provide equipment to enhance our services must be entirely separate from the surgery.

It would not be proper for us to act as agents in soliciting funds from our patients.  We will, of course, co-operate in any way we can with the group, and wish them well in their efforts to assist in improving our services.  We look forward to meeting all who are interested on the 20th of May.

SSPG DONATION FORMS.

The editor apologises for assuming in the last issue that these forms would be available for collection from the surgery.

The appeal is to raise funds, the initial objective being purchase of a defibrillator. Forms can be collected from either the Chemists in Milford Road or the Newsagent in Thursley Rd.

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children

As in previous years, the Society is holding its Silent Vigil nation-wide on Saturday April 22nd 2006.Locally, the vigils will be held at Hickley's Corner in Farnham and Town Bridge in Godalming between 11 am and 1 pm.

The Society invites you to join with us in one of these pro-life vigils to demonstrate opposition to the workings of the 1967 Abortion Act which so far has led to the deaths of some 6 million unborn babies in this country, the large majority of whom have been killed purely for social reasons.
