BRIDGE  TEA

ELSTEAD CONSERVATIVES

A magnificent tea was presented by several ladies to a Bridge Tea which was held in the United Reformed Church Hall on the 5th April.

There were ten tables of mixed skills at playing friendly social bridge.  Although the sun shone brightly the chill was still in the air and an ideal day for playing this now popular game.

I would like to thank everyone who attended  this fund raising event and in particular the ladies who bought and made some lovely cakes together with various donations of raffle prizes.

The next Bridge Event will be held on the 5th October and if you wish to book your table early you may contact me on 01252 782070.

This year  our Annual Bazumble will be held on the 14th October.  If you will be clearing out those cupboards and garden sheds etc please reserve a box or two and present them on the day before 9.30 am please.

'OUT OF AFRICA'

John Preston (see p9) at his 'Kibera Kwiz' speaks of his trip to Nairobi in July and August, working with our CMS Link Missionaries, Colin and Anita Smith. I have undertaken to raise funds in support and will be showing the video 'The Constant Gardener', centred in Kenya, in the Youth Centre at 7.30 on Friday 9th June. Entry free, but donations welcome. I shall write further on the project next month.
