ELSTEAD MARATHON 2006

Over 300 runners took part in this year's Elstead Marathon which was once again kindly sponsored by Chandlers Garage.  After a rainy morning the skies brightened for the Farnham 7^th Scout Group (Elstead)'s largest fund raising event of the year. The Scout committee wish to thank everyone for their support and in particular Chandlers Garage and local landowners including Fuller's The Mill for allowing use of their land. 

The race was followed by a BBQ and Tug of War which was again won by the 'The Donkey Pub' who beat off stiff competition from The Golden Fleece and an ad hoc village team. 

The trophies were presented to the winners of the various category races by Rosemary Pharo (nee Chandler). 

Only Elstead residents are eligible to win the cups apart from the overall 5½ mile race winner who received 'The Holroyd Cup'.
