SUMMER TERM AT RAINBOWS NURSERY SCHOOL

As the Summer Term ends, we have been making the most of the good weather.  At the end of May we went on an exciting trip to Birdworld in Farnham, travelling by coach which was the highlight of the day for many of the children.  We were very lucky with the weather, enjoying our picnic lunch in the sun and as we boarded the coach at 2pm down came the rain.

We have also been on local walks along Westbrook, taking our morning drink and snack to enjoy on the grass, and collecting flowers, leaves and grasses to make a collage.

This term we have been awarded a grant from Surrey Early Years to improve our outside play facilities.  The children were very interested to watch the tarmac being laid in the new playground. We have planters with flowers and vegetables grown by the children and a new outdoor sand-pit completes the playground. All this, together with our weekly favourite sessions of cooking and rhythm & movement with Winno on the piano, means that everyone has enjoyed their summer at Rainbows.

Our end of term picnic and races were at Burford Lodge Recreation ground, when we said good bye to 24 children this year and we wish them every happiness as they join their next school in September.

We look forward to the Autumn Term when we welcome several new children and their families to Rainbows.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU…….TO ALL THE STAFF AT RAINBOWS

This is a very big thank you from the families of the 24 children who are leaving Rainbows Nursery School this summer.

Without exception the staff all bring something special to the school.  Their experience, enthusiasm and imagination make every day a fun learning environment for our children.  Celebrating and embracing learning in so many ways - through arts & crafts, song & dance, morning circle time, messy play - even a nature walk is made so much more.

We have all watched our children, some from the tender age of 2, grow and blossom at Rainbows into happy and confident children, individually given the best possible start and prepared for their onward move.

"Thank you for all your help & support", "fantastic commitment", "best possible start", "many happy memories", "have been so happy" and "will miss you all" are just a selection of the plaudits expressed by parents at the end of term family sports day and picnic. To Jane and the team at Rainbows, we and our children, thank you all!
