Family
History research by Ian Pullen
I am trying to find out more about my family, who lived
in Elstead in the 19th century. My grandfather
was David Pullen, married to Maria Mitchell and they lived
at Elms (?) Lodge, then at Gatwick Hill (something) Lodge.
I also believe there was a descendant of Thomas Pullen named
'Winnie' who looked after my grandfather in later
years when he had moved to Verwood. Maybe someone knows
what happened to her
The families, Pullen and Mitchell were farm labouring stock
and go back many generations. Can anyone tell me how I can
find where the houses used to be and anything else about
these families. I have seen the gravestones to Maria and
David Pullen in the URC churchyard. Any help would be appreciated.
