In sunny July we enjoyed a well supported Garden Party and
entertained some members from Chiddingfold and Witley British
Legions. The mega Tombola and monthly Raffle were very profitable
and a Social gathering with friends was enjoyed by all.
The scrumptious Home Made tea went down very well accompanied
by our usual cuppa, and was rounded off with Strawberries
and Ice Cream. An Afternoon to remember.
The August meeting was like a local History lesson and brought
back many happy and funny memories for many of us. Nurse
Pye from Thursley gave us a Talk on her life as a Nurse/Midwife
from when she started her training at Great Ormond St. Hospital
in 1946 up until 20 years ago when she took a well earned
retirement. Nurse Pye came to work in this part of the Country
in 1956 where she was familiar with the local villages as
originally she came from Cutmill. We have enjoyed a very
nostalgic afternoon rounded off by our raffle and a well
earned cup of tea.
Our next meeting will
be on September 14th with a Musical Afternoon.
Visitors Welcome.

NEXT SUMMER
Does
anyone know of a house, to sleep 4-6, which might be
available for letting in July/August 2007 for a family
from Chicago?
