COUNCIL
A new village clock has been selected and ordered. It is set
by a radio pulse control so we will no longer have the problem
of dealing with time changes in the difficult to access
wooden case. Many thanks go to Keith Williamson for his technical
advice.
The sub committee has been planning the new equipment
to upgrade the Burford Lodge Recreation Ground play area with
the assistance of two co-opted parents - Anne Thomas and Simon
Hancock. We hope to get a grant from SITA to assist in funding
and to aim to provide for a slightly older age range than
the Thursley Rd area.
The Milford Pumas Youth Club football team will be playing
matches at the Burford Lodge ground this winter.
Councillors Richard Terry and Tic Jeffery have been nominated
as the Parish Council representatives on the Elstead ( Thursley
Road) Recreational Trust
The Chairman has asked the MOD and English Nature to include
the potential impact on Elstead when a review is carried out
of the safety aspects of control of fires on the commons in
consultation with the fire services.
The Inspector's Report on the A3 Trunk Road Hindhead Improvement
has been received together with the Secretary of State's
decision to proceed with the Highway Agency proposals for
a tunnel' subject to a further 6 weeks consultation on
the effect of cost increases.
The Parish Council has decided to write to the Chief Planning
Officer of Waverley Borough Council to enquire about their
policy on the inclusion of S106 agreements in planning consents
for the purpose of providing funds for infrastructure projects
in the parish.
Any resident of the Parish who may be contemplating standing
as a candidate for the Parish Council at the elections next
May is very welcome to come along to our meetings to see how
we conduct the affairs of the Parish.
The next Parish Meeting is on Monday 16th October
at the URC Hall.
