Do you know who we
are and what we do?
We are a group of volunteers: Diane Balchin, Pam Chandler,
Joan Dalton, Graham Lock, Nancie Mitchell, Betty Moxon, Sheila
O'Kelly, Anne Preston, Alvys Sparkes, Di Tulett, Maggie Waddell,
Henry Wake and Christine Welland.
What do we do?
Our main aim is to assist the Springfield Surgery in delivering
the best possible service to the community.
How do we do this?
- Analyse the Annual Patient
Questionnaire and suggest ways in which the Surgery can
respond to patients views.
- We have raised over
£2,000 to date for a much needed defibrillator, which is
in the process of being purchased. It is hoped that
the British Heart Foundation will contribute towards the
cost which means we will have some money in hand for future
equipment.
- We hold an Annual Open
Meeting to which all patients are invited to meet with the
Doctors and discuss the Practice.
- We meet informally 3
- 4 times a year and then have a full meeting with the Doctors
two - three times a year.
What can we do in the future?
Continue to build up our equipment fund to purchase items not
available on the NHS.
We would like to invite a Specialist to a village meeting to
talk to the patients about a specific illness/disease.
To keep the villagers informed of our progress via the
'Village News'.

By supporting our events ie; fund raising, annual meetings etc.
By letting us know any views or ideas you may have, by contacting
one of the above or telephoning 01252 702554.
To use the defibrillator more effectively we need volunteers
to train in the use of this machine. The response time from
the Ambulance Service cannot be guaranteed (and the response
time is vital). Volunteers would need to be prepared to
act on emergencies during 'out of hours and the weekend'. This
could be done in pairs on a rota basis. If you are interested
