COME
DANCING
AGAIN
Our season has started off very well and already we have
been taught some new dances, a Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot and
a Stroll - that's a new one on us! Our leaders attend
a meeting once a month where they are instructed on the
new dances and they then teach us greenhorns.
October saw us hosting the first of our long night Saturday
dances, an evening much enjoyed by forty or so club members
and visitors from other clubs. Who remembers the old song
I've Got Sixpence? That was one of the tunes we danced
to, and it was surprising how many knew or remembered the
words to sing along to.
Near to Christmas we will be holding a dance where we dance
around a Christmas Tree, which is quite often 12 - 18 foot
high. It's a very popular occasion and usually the hall
is full to capacity. Where possible we enjoy some Carols,
we are refreshed with Punch, and really start to feel the
Christmas spirit.
From the profit on the dance a donation is sent to aid some
local organisation or charity.
We will still be meeting at Milford Village Hall on Wednesdays
from 8.00 to 10.30 pm so if you want to join us come along
and meet us. You can come on your own but its better with
a partner. For any further information ring Peggy on 01483
