This month's meeting began at 6.30 pm as this was the last meeting of the Evening WI.. We had a social gathering and then sat down to a very nice buffet supper prepared by our committee.

After our meal we chatted and waited for Mrs Gillespie who gave us a wonderful talk on  Patchwork Quilting. Her hobby began in France where she was born and later came to England and carried on her work in Farnham. She brought along quilts, wall hangings and other things she had made which were all beautiful.

May thanked her for a very interesting talk. Susan Holmes won the patchwork competition which was judged by Mrs Gillespie.

Our "Out and About" afternoon at Country Market was very much enjoyed, also the walk on Hankley Golf  Course was very enjoyable and well attended, finishing with lunch at the Woolpack.

May Deaville the President then thanked all officers and the committee for their work through the year and numerous other members for running the raffle, making tea and writing reports. May was thanked on behalf of us all for her devotion and presented with a  book token.

We then sang A Christmas Carol and Auld Lang Syne . It was a wonderful evening but we were all very saddened it being our final meeting.
