OFSTED INSPECTION FOR PETER PAN PRE-SCHOOL

Our autumn term ended on a very busy note in December. At the end of November we had our first Ofsted Inspection in our new building and we were thrilled with the report we received. The Inspector was most complementary about the building and resources that the children now have. The inspection covered five key areas and found all of them to be 'strong' resulting in our setting receiving an overall grade of 'good'. We were even more delighted to be told that there were no areas that needed immediate action. Well done to all of the staff and children. Should you wish to see a full copy of the report, you can visit www.ofsted.gov.uk  or please telephone the pre-school for a copy. Below are just a few of the comments from our report:

'The Staff's good understanding of child development ensures an exciting range of activities……….they plan a stimulating curriculum.'

'Children play very well together, develop good relationships and are well behaved.'

'The partnership with parents is good. Parents and staff work together which results in a positive effect on the children's learning and development.'

'Children show high levels of self esteem.'

The children were very excited when Trish Grammer of Ceramimagic, visited us down at the pavilion. The children painted some wonderful ceramic star decorations to take home for their Christmas tree. We also performed our nativity play for parents and the reception class from St James School joined us for our dress rehearsal. Our Christmas party, on our last day, was more hectic than usual, with Mr Giant entertaining the children and of course our thanks go to Father Christmas, who helped us again this year! Here's looking forward to 2007, when we celebrate our 40th birthday!
