Once again the Singers performed to a crowded hall which was decorated and lit in a Seasonal Manner.  They had been rehearsed and were conducted by Ula Oakley with a piano accompaniment by David Mariott.

The programme started with the Singers in the distance before they came into the hall to join us for the remaining 19 or so Christmas Carols. These were performed in an range of styles from the (English) traditional to Rag-Time. The programme was interspersed with  readings of poems written by Ursula Fanthorpe an old school friend of Ula. The audience were also kept busy being asked to join in singing five carols.

Not content with getting us to join in with our old favourites our musical director took on the task of getting the audience to sing a round - most of us could remember singing like this at school or elsewhere when we were younger - if anyone was asleep that woke them up!

After the entertainment, we were plied with a superb range of nibbles and wine rounding off a very successful evening.

Ula, the Singers and the support team are to be congratulated on a really pleasant evening.
