TRAIDCRAFT
The new Spring/Summer catalogue is now available. You
will find copies at Church, St James' or URC. You will
be able to see some of the gifts at the URC Coffee Morning
on Saturday 3rd March and again on Saturday 31st
March. Not Easter Saturday.
From Vietnam, a woolly sheep tape measure (pull out its tail)
£3.50 and a Grasshopper, drag the stick across the bumps to
produce a whirr £3. From Chile, a fish-shaped pen with
a flexible tail £3.
Cafédirect has changed its packaging and introduced two new
brands of instant coffee. The 5065 is now Cafédirect
Classic and there is still the decaffeinated. The new
products are Special Selection (a new premium seasonal line)
and Cafédirect Intense (made from arabica beans).
Traidcraft started changing its packaging last autumn.
Now it covers all its tea, coffee, muesli, honey and more
to come. It will be confusing for a time.
For you to enjoy are lots of jewellery, cheap and cheerful
and exclusive and expensive. You will have to look at
the catalogue to find out.
Growing people through Fair Trade
When Laputa of Dezign Inc in Zimbabwe was asked if he had
a message for us he said: "To be successful for one year grow
maize. To be successful for five years grow tobacco.
To be successful for ten years grow trees. To be successful
for a lifetime grow people. You can do this by supporting
Fair Trade. We are grateful to Traidcraft for the support
they have given us."
For those who are interested in Fair trade, on Saturday 10th
March there will be a debate on the economics of Fair trade
versus Free trade at Christ Church, Woking at 7.30 pm.
