PAPER BOAT RACE STILL AFLOAT AT THE MOAT.

The Elstead Paper Boat Race committee, who have run this marvellous event so well for so long, are stepping down for a well deserved rest. However, the boat race will live on as the 2nd Elstead Brownies are happy to take on the challenge of organising and running this wonderful and unique village day out, which will also hopefully help out the Brownies with some much needed fund raising.

The date for the diaries is Sunday 24th June, at the earlier time of 2 pm. There will, depending on the relevant permission being obtained, be some refreshments available to go with the fantastic fun.

For those new to all of  this, the boat must be large enough to contain a crew of one or more, and must be made entirely from paper/cardboard, not only that, but you will be expected to sail merrily around the moat for 15 minutes, ideally a bit faster than your opponents. (copies of rules and regs will be available soon) .There will be prizes for the most original and ingenious designs as well as of course for the probably very soggy and sodden winners.

Its time to start hoarding those boxes, piling up that paper and getting down to some serious scheming and sketching. We look forward to seeing the results.

THANK YOU

I would like to thank all my friends who visited me in hospital bringing flowers and gifts. This was much appreciated. I am home now and am always pleased to see people.
