HHH CONCERTS
SEASON 2007-2008

HHH Concerts' new season starting in October presents an exciting line-up of international performers, well known in venues round the world such as London's Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York, and Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.

All these can be heard at St Christopher's Church in Weyhill, Haslemere with its excellent acoustics, friendly atmosphere and convenient free parking nearby.

The first concert on 6th October features the young Formosa Quartet.  Based in the US, the Quartet is the winner of the 2006 London International String Quartet Competition.  Classic FM Magazine wrote 'The Formosa Quartet plays with exquisite definition… technical brilliance and much charm.'
Other highlights of the season include a young Russian pianist with a formidable technique, Igor Tchetuev, the world famous Talich Quartet, and an outstanding group of wind players, The New London Chamber Ensemble.

A Season Ticket for all five concerts may be had for only £45, or even better value, a double season ticket for £72.  Tickets for single concerts are £14, student tickets £5 and children under 12 go free.  Tickets and more information are available from Alastair Vartan on 01428 652448.  These and all other details are on our website which can be found at:

Tickets for single concerts are also on sale at the Haslemere Hall - 01428 642161 (credit card facilities) and Chamberlain Music, Weyhill, Haslemere.

GOOD COMPANIONS

July's meeting was a day off for Chairman and Committee so some members volunteered to take our places.  Unfortunately due to illness and hospital appointments Eileen who took the chair had extra duties. With the help of her friends they also worked in the kitchen.

The afternoon entertainment went well, a musical quiz. Some had good memories but alas some did not. We had a good laugh

I must stress a very big thank you to Eileen and her team for the entertainment. Refreshments and raffle.  Not forgetting a thank you to members for my gift. I include my committee's thanks.  May I add also thank all who came on our afternoon trip - it was sunny and we had some sea air also a pleasant drive and scenery ending with as usual with a cup of tea and cake.

Our next meeting in September is a talk and slides on Spitzberge by Mr Wheatley.

Good luck and fine weather to all going on holiday .

Madge Stock.
