ELSTEAD ROYAL BRITISH LEGION WOMENS'S SECTION

The Meeting on September 13th which was a 'Mystery Trip', is no longer a mystery - a group of about 25 was picked up a various points by Peter the driver of the Bicknells' coach at about 10.30 am.

We were taken through Dockenfield, Alice Holt Forestry, Four Marks, along the River Test Way, passing Mottisfont Abbey, although the villagers of Montisfont apparently do not like coaches in the area and onto Longstock and Stockbridge where we stopped at the White Hart for lunch at 1 pm, which was very good.

Some of the party visited the local church after lunch, and at 3 pm we started on our return journey to Elstead which took us towards Leckford, passing by many thatched cottages both old and new in the villages in and around Wherwell and Whitchurch. The weather was good as was the company and we travelled to the sound music - old songs which were sung by people with good memories!!   It was a very pleasant trip in good company, and we arrived home at about 5pm.

The next Meeting will be on October 11th, when Pat Pierce will be talking us through some flower arrangements

Betty wishes me to remind you that subscriptions are also due on that date New members are welcome, so come along.
