TRAIDCRAFT

Friday 5th October was a beautiful sunny day.  In the afternoon at the invitation of Mrs Joy Dorey, her garden was transformed by stalls of Traidcraft.  There were beautiful patterned cushion covers from Zambia, jewellery from India and this year's delightful gifts; lamb and bee tape measures from Vietnam only £3.50 each.  Thank you, Joy for your hospitality.

There are now only three more occasions when you can buy Traidcraft before Christmas:  Saturday 3rd November at the URC Hall 10 am -12, Saturday 10th November at the Village Hall 9.30 am - 12 at the Charity Card Sale, then the last one on Saturday 1st December at the URC Hall 10 am - 12.

When you buy Traidcraft fair-traded goods you are helping to improve the life of a family who do not want charity but the chance to work their own way out of poverty.

CHILDREN'S SOCIETY BOXES

It is the time of year when we hope to collect up all the Children's Society boxes so that they can be emptied and the monies sent off to the Society before Christmas. So this is just a reminder to put a few more coins in and don't be surprised when you are asked by the collector for your box.
The Christingle Service will be at St James' School on Sunday 9th  December.
