ELSTEAD
CINEMA
Elstead Cinema received enthusiastic acclaim with its debut
performance of Casino Royale. Villagers were able to
sit back and enjoy the large screen. The film was shown via
a laptop and linked to a powerful projector and was operated
by Keith Williamson with Ben Tilly providing the sound. John
Manches, the Village Halls Treasurer, welcomed the audience.
The Committee took up the James Bond theme, with three members
wearing black tie, which set the tone for the evening. Colin
Welland welcomed Villagers as they arrived and Anne and Peter
Moon were on the door. A bar was available on arrival and
again in the 20 minute interval when teas and coffees were
also provided.
The concept of a local cinema came from Peter Moon, who thought
it would be a great social occasion as well as a benefit to
the community as a whole. All surplus funds will go
towards Village Hall improvements.
The next production will be ATONEMENT on Friday 14th
March, doors open at 7.00 pm and the film starts at 7.30 pm.
Tickets will be available from 1st March at Elstead
Newsagents and the Spar. We look forward to seeing you
there.
