NEWS FROM ELSTEAD PARISH COUNCIL

The new climbing frame for the Burford Lodge Recreation Ground has  not yet been installed because of possible damage by contractor vehicles to the wet ground but hopefully we can proceed soon as the surface seems to be drying out now.

With the increase in facilities at this ground there are a number of day to day management issues which the Council needs to address and which were discussed at the last Council meeting. The most pressing issue will be to consider the report of the professional flood light consultant which has been commissioned and funded by the Council.

A survey of all the litter bins in the village has been carried out with the WBC Cleansing department  manager and we are considered to be well served for bins - for example there are 13 bins in Thursley Rd between Woolfords Lane up to and including the Village Green. Waverley BC have agreed to put an extra bin at the end of Red House Lane.

Motor bikers and illegal vehicles on Hankley Common are still a problem causing a great deal of nuisance and noise. A full  report has been passed to the MOD at the recent Conservation Management meeting. Any information should be passed to the MOD Police on 01420 485 585 or Surrey Police on 0845 125 22 22 but they should not be approached by members of the public.

At the Surrey CC Local Committee approval was given for the Highways Engineer to go ahead with the Elstead speed limit changes.
