RECYCLING NEWS

Thursley & Elstead's 2nd Bring and Take Morning was held at Thursley Village Hall on Saturday 15th March 2008. This was another very worthwhile event with many large items (a garden composter, an unused toilet, a large screen television to mention a few!) finding new homes almost immediately.  In addition, over half of every thing else was re-homed thus saving another large load from landfill. We were very pleased to have all the left-over books taken away to make money for Frimley Park Hospital.  Furnishings were recycled and the remaining clothes, china, bric-a-brac and four television sets went off to the Thursley Cricket Club's jumble sale at the end of the month.  Waverley Borough Council arranged for anything else to be taken away.  This amounted to a small truck load.

These events have become so popular with people keen to pass on a better world to future generations that I have asked SCC if they will pay for the hire of the hall again in the autumn.
