REPORT OF DOCTORS' OPEN MEETING

The Springfield Surgery Patients' Group arranged its annual opportunity for the doctors and patients of the Springfield Surgery to meet on Thursday 12th June at the URC.
The meeting was well attended as usual and the format seemed very popular - patients' questions to the doctors about the running of the practice and its future were explicitly and informatively answered by the doctors and were of great interest. Those attending found a number of topics to raise further questions on, resulting in a friendly discussion.

The main value of such a meeting was the chance for the doctors to be made more aware of patients' concerns and, equally, for patients to appreciate more fully the doctors' viewpoint and the framework in which the G.P.s have to operate.

Light refreshments served at the end gave a further chance for patients and doctors to talk informally.

The S.S.P.G. would like to thank all those who attended and in particular those who so willingly advertised the meeting via posters and newsletters. We are especially grateful to the URC and Mr.& Mrs Batchelor of the Elstead P.O. & Newsagents for the use of their premises as 'post-boxes' for questions from patients prior to the meeting.
