7TH  FARNHAM SCOUTS (ELSTEAD)
MARATHON 4TH JULY 2008


The annual Elstead Scout marathon, sponsored by Chandlers Garage, enjoyed its largest ever turnout of runners on Friday evening.  The sun shone as the runners gathered on the village Green for registration.

176 adults and 120 juniors took part this year.  A group of teenage girls ran dressed as cats. 

The results are as follows with cups presented to Elstead residents only.  Caroline Chandler once again kindly presented the winner's trophies.

Overall 5.5 mile race winner:  Nick Morgan (32mins  23secs)

Late entrants, Farnham's Vienna Restaurant, beat The Donkey Pub and Hanson Conservatories in the Tug-of-War.

The organisers would like to thank all those who helped and sponsored the event with special mention to Chandlers Garage for their continued support and to Prides Farm Shop who sponsored the BBQ.  Our thanks also go to the landowners for once again allowing us to cross their land and to The Woolpack, Ultimate Beauty and The Golden Fleece amongst others for donating raffle prizes.

HARVEST LUNCH

 
St James' Church 2008 Harvest Lunch will be held on Sunday 29th September - 12.15 for 12.30. It is being held  In the Village hall.   


Tickets £6 per adult and £2.50 per child from Sara Goodship or Irene Tracy
