FROM
ELSTEAD
PARISH
COUNCIL
To help the Village Hall in its current major renovation and improvement programme the Council
has authorised a grant of £2150. towards the substantial costs.
We hear that the Elstead Football Club hope to supply the requisite electrical safety certificate
for the footlights. Until they do so the lights cannot be used. Two residents from Burford Lea
have volunteered to join the Council sub committee working on improvements to the installation..
Repairs to the fencing round the Thursley Rd Rec have been completed and two new large litter
bins are now in place. New litter bins are also on order for Buford Lodge Rec as this ground
is now in much greater use. We also plan to extend the car park there.
The Council has agreed to go ahead with providing allotments to meet the growing interest and
requests. Applicants will need to be patient while we clear the land and lay on water supplies
- we will let everyone know when the land is ready.
Tree surgery work has been in progress on the tree belt at Burford Lodge Rec and the two large
trees on the Village Green which were overdue for pruning at the lower branches. The grass contractors
will be able to work there more effectively..
We welcome back PC Rob Hawkes as our neighbourhood policeman - he knows Elstead very well.
