ELSTEAD SHARKS FOOTBALL CLUB

The Elstead Sharks are a youth football club established 6 years ago. At the start it was very much a turn up and have a kick about, but has gradually evolved as more players have joined in. We have tried to retain the original philosophy in our approach to football to ensure that we keep the fun element and appeal to a wide range of talents.

This season, the club has registered with Surrey FA and is now affiliated to Elstead Football Club. We also have strong links with St James CE (A) Primary School and use their playing fields when required for matches.

We are looking for new players to strengthen our squads and to play in our fixtures this season. We welcome boys and girls of all abilities aged 6 to 12 (Year 1 to Year 7).

Coaching and matches take place on a Saturday morning from 09:30 to 11:30 during the football season at Thursley Road Recreation Ground, Elstead. Parents are encouraged to be involved in coaching if they wish.

Each year group has regular matches against other local teams and all age groups will enter one day tournaments at the end of the season.

The club is run entirely on voluntary donations and grants. There are no subscriptions. Attendance is on a casual roll-up basis, but we do ask that you let us know availability for matches, so that we know what squads will be playing.

Our approach is focused on encouragement, and the enjoyment of playing football for all.

CHRISTMAS BOXES FOR VEOLIA STAFF:

I think giving some money at Christmas to our cheerful and hardworking bin men is a nice custom but I always worry that my refuse collection crew never get the envelope I tape to the inside of my wheelie bin. The Contract Manager at Veolia has told me that the best way to ensure any Christmas Boxes that residents would like to give to their collection crew, arrive safely is to contact Veolia to find the name of their driver. A cheque can then be sent to this name c/o Veolia, Bourne Mill Depot, Guildford Road, Farnham, GU9 9PZ. You can call 01252 724157 to find who your driver is.
