SPRINGFIELD
SURGERY
PATIENTS
GROUP
The recent meeting of this group at the Surgery produced some worthwhile discussion.
The Suggestions Box has been well used already and the Surgery is looking into ways of responding
to some of the suggestions made; for example, the Receptionists have been asked to let patients
know, on arriving at the Surgery, if there is a delay in seeing the particular Doctor. This
will allow the patients to use the waiting time as they wish. Unfortunately, telephoning
the patient ahead poses insuperable problems.
The Surgery is always happy to receive magazines that appeal to a wide variety of ages and
interests, for Patients' use, provided the publication is less than 3 months old. Equally,
the Surgery is happy to accept a limited amount of books for children. Toys are not
provided for Health and Safety reasons though some avenues are being explored to resolve
this problem.
Southern Counties Radio is, regrettably, not accessible on the Surgery radio.
These responses cover most of the suggestions so far; if patients would like to make more,
then do use the Box in the Waiting Room. There is also a list of the Group's members, with
telephone numbers, if anyone should wish to contact us.
