THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

This year Godalming and District  Churches Together [ which  includes Elstead ] have chosen the York course on 'Faith Hope and Love''[ 1 Cor  13 ] and as usual the material will be stocked in Nathan's Bookshop. The Lent  Groups given below meet for 5 weeks leading up to Easter.

YOU ARE VERY WELCOME to join our Group on Monday evenings 8 pm [  beginning 2nd March ] in our home at The Old Farmhouse [ opposite  the Golden Fleece ] and do bring a friend. It is especially meaningful to share  the Christian Faith on an ecumenical basis and become ever greater aware that we  have so much in common when we join together in living out and exploring  the Goodnews. In any event we have been hosting an ecumenical Prayer Group every  Monday [ except Bank Holidays ] over many years and I would like you to  know that all are welcome to come along [ not just in Lent ] If you so wish you could form a Lent Group of your own, but  otherwise, if you can't make Monday evenings, you might like to consider the  following groups

Elstead  Cinema

Elstead Cinema celebrated its first anniversary on the 13th February, when we showed the Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian.  On behalf of all the Committee I would like to thank everyone for their support, which has enabled us to contribute all the profits (£2,116) towards the continuing Village Hall expenses.  We are indeed lucky to have such a pleasant venue to show our films, and of course the Village Hall is used by many organisations and highly valued.

We have an exciting programme to offer for the next three months.  We will be showing, Body of Lies (Cert 15), an action thriller, on Friday 13th March.  We hope to have Changeling starring Angelina Jolie for April, which will be shown on 17th April due to Easter and PETS production, and in May we will be showing Quantum of Solace.

Tickets for Body of Lies are available from Batchelors Newsagents.
