ELSTEAD VILLAGE ALLOTMENT UPDATE

We are pleased to announce that on Monday 27th April Elstead Parish Council very kindly decided that plans for the Elstead Village Allotments could go ahead. After several meetings between the Parish Council and the Allotment Steering Committee, paperwork and funding have been agreed. The Parish Council is now in the process of organising for the land to be fenced, sprayed and ploughed, hopefully ready for autumn planting. Elstead allotments are on their way to becoming a reality!

The next stage is to hold a public meeting at which the Elstead Village Allotment Association (EVAA) will be formally constituted and the election of the committee will take place. A copy of the EVAA constitution can either be viewed in the Post Office or emailed to you. At this meeting there will also be an update on: cost, water, access and plots - number, size and position.

Meeting Time: Wednesday 3rd June
Place: Cricket Pavilion
Bar open to public: 19.15
Public meeting commences: 19.30

If you are unable to attend the meeting, and are still keen to have an allotment, it would be extremely helpful if you could let us know beforehand. If you have not yet applied for an allotment and are interested in doing so, please contact the Acting Membership Secretary, Michael A'Bear on
evaa.membership@elstead.org or 01252 703250.

We are extremely grateful to the Elstead Parish Council for supporting this venture. Special thanks go to its representatives for the considerable amount of time, work and support they have put into getting this project off the ground: Bryn Morgan, Pat Murphy and Chris Newman.

We look forward to meeting everyone on Wednesday 3rd June. In the meantime, if you have any queries, please get in touch and we will do our best to answer them.
