24 HOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MOPNITOR

You've done it ! We've reached the target!  The Springfield Surgery Patients' Group would like to extend a sincere 'thank you' to all those patients of the Practice who gave so generously in these more difficult times to raise enough money for a new monitor.

Together with cash left over from previous appeals we have  raised enough and the monitor is on order. It will be of great benefit to many patients, since there is a waiting list for the use of the old one which, in any case , is coming to the end of its useful life. This will help the Practice to provide a
local service to those who need to use the monitor  and avoid the inconvenience and expense of trips to the RSCH.

The SSPG were able to announce the success  of this appeal at  the recent  Open Evening with the Doctors on 3rd June when the topics discussed were childhood illnesses, strokes,  and what could be treated at home by oneself . Competition from other meetings meant the numbers attending were lower than usual but the meeting was much appreciated by those who came; the friendly atmosphere was  rounded off with refreshments and informal chat with the doctors at the end. The Doctors also expressed their amazement and thanks  for the gift of the monitor through the  Appeal,  which helps them provide such a high standard of service.

PLAYERS OF ELSTEAD THEATRICAL SOCIETY

We are delighted to have cast the Pantomime Cinderella which will be staged in Elstead Village Hall 29 - 31 October 2009 (including a Matinee).  However we are still requiring a further six people as Chorus, and a drummer to accompany our Musical Director on the piano.  Anyone interested should contact Denise Cleaver on 01252-703739.

AN INVITATION TO HELP ON THURSLEY NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE

We would like to invite you to help with the on going re-building of the boardwalk network on Sunday 12th of July.

We plan to meet at the Moat car park at 10.30 am, and finish around 3 pm (ish).

If you are interested in helping for the day, or as long as you can spare, please phone the number below or by email to register your interest.  Please leave a contact number and name so we can get back in touch if needed

On the day numbers of helpers will be limited, if we get a lot of interest we may hold 2 workdays, this is due to the nature of the task, too many people ultimately  get in each others way, as we will be working in a confined area.

All tools will be provided on the day, as will training.
Please bring some food and drink and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

I look forward to hearing from you.
