FROM YOUR LOCAL PC

I was contacted by one of your councillors recently who advised me that they had received complaints concerning anti social behaviour ( ASB ) in the early hours of the morning at the recreation ground off Burford Lea. The nature of the ASB is youths shouting, leaving their litter including broken bottles, and generally being a nuisance to not only the close neighbours but to residents who wish to use the recs facilities the next day. The councillor who contacted me has been picking up the litter including the broken glass themselves in the mornings before anyone gets injured. This situation cannot and should not continue. Now that we the police have now been informed my team and myself will be regularly patrolling this area in the evenings and anyone found committing an offence will be positively dealt with usually by way of an on the spot fine.

And please if you experience any incidents of this kind please call us on the 0845 125 2222 number in the first instance so we can deal with it. I should add that the vast majority of youths in Elstead cause us no problem what so ever, I'm referring to a very small minority who show no consideration for fellow residents.

You may remember I mentioned in my last article that my public forum held in May could not come up with a subject for me to deal with. As a result I have decided to suspend future forums and instead replace them with monthly surgeries in the village. My first is at the URC on Tuesday the 14th of July between 12.30 and 2.00 pm, the surgery is a format I have been using successfully in other villages, so if you have an issue you wish to discuss please come along and have a chat
