THE LAST JOURNEY OF ENRIQUE GRANADOS

Out of the many 'incidents' in WW1, those which caused much public attention at the time, were the ones that raised question marks as to whether the USA would declare war. The very last of these was the torpedo attack on the cross-Channel ferry 'Sussex' in 1916, when some 50 passengers were killed.

One of these was the Spanish composer, Granados. There should be no mystery, but anybody wanting to know about him reads the blurb on CDs, the Internet etc - and they have all got it wrong! This is largely due to the political propaganda of the time, and partly due to commercial carelessness. I am told that in the USA they still think that he was a casualty of the 'Lusitania'!

So I have written a small book 'The Last Journey of Enrique Granados', in which I have sorted out fact from fiction from lies. The book contains translations into Spanish and Catalan; illustrations of Granados, and of the 'Sussex' before and after; and reproductions of the Admiralty Chart which would have been used at the time. The book has been published by Opus Books and should be available from Amazon, or even on application at bookshops (make them aware of it!) The book reference is ISBN 978-0-9561536-3-0.
