Elstead  Cinema Autumn Season

Elstead Cinema opens its doors again on Friday 11th September when we will be showing Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.  The film tells the story of an English aristocrat (Kidman) who inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland.  When English cattle barons threaten to take her land she reluctantly joins forces with a rough stockman to drive the cattle across hundreds of miles of Australian desert.  Their successful arrival is marred by the Japanese attack on Darwin.  Doors open at 7.00 pm and we look forward to seeing you all again.

On 9th October we will be showing Slumdog Millionaire.

INVASION OF ELSTEAD

Voters!! Are you aware that Elstead has been invaded by Milford and District U3A and it is too late to prevent it? In fact some residents have been members for some time; one even went so far as to take the Chair for three years. That is one thing; but now some groups have arranged to meet in
your village. To make sure events do not get out of control, there is only one thing you can do now and that is to infiltrate these meetings and find out exactly what is going on. These invaders may not be easy to spot at first; they could be mistaken for genuine residents. English is their preferred language.

Milford and District U3A is open to anyone upon payment of a £20 annual subscription. This not only confers automatic membership of the National U3A organisation and three copies each year of the National Newsletter, but will also give you free access to forty or so groups and classes co-ordinated by leaders who share their skills and give their services free on topics which are of general interest, e.g. education, sport, health, arts, crafts and many more. Meetings are held in the day time at various venues in the Godalming, Milford and Elstead areas.

You can find out exactly what will be going on in Elstead Pavilion and Elstead Village Hall by telephoning the Membership Secretary, Rosemary Bryant, on 01483 421612 or by looking up
www. Milford & District U3A. Act now before it is too late.

Vigilance is the word. Act now before it is too late!
