What are the parking and traffic implications of having the Children's Centre at the school?
Many of the families likely to use our services are already coming along to the school. Some group sessions will be held at another venue in the village (Village Hall, Pavilion, URC Hall) since the CC is going to have limited space for large groups. Whilst the Centre could be open at various times throughout the day (potentially any time between 8 am and 6 pm), we only have funding for staff coverage of 25 hours per week. We need the flexibility in opening times to be able to meet parents outside their normal work hours.

A party was held in the Club Barn on Saturday 5th September to thank all those members who have volunteered helper to run the club over the passed 12 months.. The night started with the Branch Chairman, Doug, who present those, who contributed significant amounts of time to make the club a success, with certificate and vouchers in recognition of their efforts. Cheers came when Kevin, who runs the bars, was present. Also cheers came for Ron when he was presented. Ron was also presented with an electric golf trolley by Jamie the Club Chairman, in recognition of his long term efforts over many years. Doug, who is also the Club Treasurer, was presented a tankard, he had ensured the funds were spent wisely and obtained significant donations spent on new furnishings to improve our already beautiful buildings and ground.

The night continued with good company, good food and drink plus good music and dancing. All In all we believe a good night was had by all. Thanks again to all the volunteers plus all the members who support Club and make the Club fun.

FROM YOUR LOCAL PC

With the Autumn now upon us along with the darker evenings now is a good time to revaluate your home security, I can assist you if you wish? But a good piece of advice to start with is think if you lost your key how would you get into your property? It would probably be the same way as the burglar so look to strengthen any weak points, and:-

  1. If you haven't already got one get an alarm fitted.
  2. Join your Neighbourhood Watch, if you do not have one think about setting one up, I can help you.
  3. Fit timers to some of your lights, with the nights drawing in there is never a better time to see that the house is empty, one tip, have them coming on at different times ie the bedroom one coming on later than the living room. And please don't just have a light on in the hall as I don't know anyone who sits in the hall whilst the rest of the house is in darkness.
  4. When the house is unoccupied leave a radio on, preferably on a speech based station so it sounds as though someone is either at home listening or is having a conversation.
  5. Fit window locks if you can.

Nottingham knockers! What are they I hear you ask? Well they are the people who call to your property and try to sell dusters etc my advice is that if you get one of these or any other cold callers do not purchase anything and please phone us on 0845 125 2222 immediately so that we can get a local unit to check their "shall we say credibility".

My next police surgery is again at the wardens office in Springhaven on Thursday the 15th of
October between 10 & 11 am as always please check the Surrey Police web site just in case there is a last minute change.
