VILLAGE NEWS NEWS

At the recent meeting of the magazine committee it was decided that we could keep our present cover price and our charges for advertising.

Over the last year there have been a number of improvements to the production facilities for this magazine. The first was replacement of the copier with a new one which is both faster and more consistent with its output. The new copier can print directly from a computer which produces better quality and allows us to include pictures when we wish.

From the March edition the magazine will regularly be 30 pages, with one extra side for content and the other for advertisements. This will allow some people who are currently on the waiting list to have their advertisement included.

Printing and compiling of the magazine is done in St James' Church by several teams, there is currently a need for a few more people to help on both the printing team (half day every 4 or so months) and on the compiling team - half day each month. If you could help with either of these please contact Peter Waddell (
705 971) for more information.

The computer which connects to the copier for printing is a very old laptop, replacement with a more recent one would be appreciated by the users.  If you have an old(ish) laptop which you no longer require perhaps you would consider donating it for this purpose. Please contact William Lang or myself if you are able to make such an offer.

CHILDREN'S SOCIETY BOXES

As usual, we will be collecting up the Children's Society boxes during November so that all the money can be sent off.   So please put a few more coins in your box if you  can, and don't be surprised when you are asked for it by one of the usual  collectors.
